On 5-11 February 2023, Kazan hosted the third Phygital Games in three esports challenges: tactical challenge, battle challenge, and speedrun challenge.
About Games
In 2022, Kazan played host to two editions of Phygital Games, featuring Beat Saber, drone racing, football, basketball, ice hockey, martial arts, and phygital racing. A total of 38 teams from seven countries took part in the tournaments.
The following competitions were held as part of the third Phygital Games:
Speedrun
Dates: February 5-8
Venue: IT Park, Kazan Expo
Each participant played a video game on both retro consoles and modern PCs. Athletes competed in such games as the legendary Super Mario bros, Comix Zone, and Chip’n’Dale adventure games, Resident evil 2 Remake, Little Nightmares, and Mirror’s Edge horror games, as well as Hitman: Codename 47, Quake and Serious Sam The First encounter.
Phygital MOBA: MLBB+show match, Dota2+show match
Dates: February 6-8
Venue: Kazan Expo
The teams played matches according to the Olympic system in compliance with the rules of eSports. After the cyber competition was over, the teams competed in a laser tag show match.
Phygital tactical combat: CS:GO + laser tag, Warface and laser tag
Dates: February 9-10
Venue: Kazan Expo
As part of the 3D tactical combat disciplines, phygital athletes showcased their skills in CS:GO and Warface games, after which they competed in laser tag.
Battle Royale, laser tag show match
Date: February 11
Venue: Kazan Expo
The Phygital Games ended with a laser tag show match (Battle Royale) between participants in CS:GO and Warface competitions. The format of the laser tag duel was as close as possible to the rules of computer games in the battle royale format (PUBG, Fortnite, etc.) with shrinking play zones and item collecting.
