  • One Move, a team comprised of players from Russia and Belarus, has won the Dota 2 tournament at the Phytigal Games-3 in Kazan. It beat athletes from Brazil that made up the Keyd Stars team with a score of 2:0 in the final.
  • The winning team has triumphantly walked away with 1,250,000 rubles. The athletes were also honored to have a phygital flame raised over their heads.

Following a strong-willed victory over Matreshka in the semi-finals, Keyd Stars was hoping to catch another Russian team by surprise with their aggressive tactics but One Move was ready for this. It was a close game until the players made it to the middle of the first map by which point One Move had adapted to the gaming style and tactics of the Brazilians, pushed on without making any gross mistakes and achieved a victory of 1 to 0. It took them a little more than half an hour to win the second map with 42:22 spent on kills and a score of 2:0 in the match.

“We started off our game quite well yesterday. We were poised for our opponent. Our game was all in all pretty confident. I will spend some of the money I’ve won with my team to just relax and I’ll give part of it to my family. Rest assured: e-sports is not only about being a fan of it. It also involves money,” said One Move player Nikita Munkushi Chepurnykh.

“Organization-wise, it felt like we were playing at a major Dota 2 tournament. I would’ve enjoyed more resistance in the final. After all, it’s not every day that you get to go up agaisnt a team from another country who have a different approach to the game. I’d like to to be able to gain more from meetings like that,” said the coach of the winning team Sergey G Bragin.

Yaroslav NS Kuznetsov who is one of the most well-known Dota 2 players, acted as commentator at the tournament. On the final day Olympic figure skating medalist Alexander Enbert paid a visit to the analytics studio who happens to be a fan of MOBA games.

“I feel great about this phygital format, and, in fact, we have been combining digital and physical activities at out training camps in the mountains for a long time. I mean, we tend to spend hours playing Dota 2 after trainings. E-sports is a great sport. However, it lacks movement, and adding physical movement to it will make people healthier and it’d also add spice to things. I’d love to participate in competitions like that. I would invite my friends and my wife to the team. My wife loves watching Dota 2,” Aleksander Enbert shared.

One Move is in for a laser tag show match with Rose Noire which won the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang tournament. It is taking place today on February 8.

“If my guys take a listen, I’ll clue them in on the plan that I’ve been working on for two days. Still, I don’t think they’ll hear me out which means they are most likely going to be just swept,” said the One Move coach in jest.

The match for the third place was won by the Russian team Matreshka that beat Alpha (made up of players from Peru and Argentina) with a score of 2:0.

“It’s all very well organized. I liked everything — the arena, the presenters, the commentators. The guys here are very positive, they are helping the players. The “phygital” format is pretty cool. A while ago it was believed that such things meant the future and this future is here. Playing against a team from another country is always a pleasant experience. Those guys are quite experienced,” said Adam LagooNa Chakhaev from Matreshka.
