On September 19 and 20, Kazan will host the First All-Russian Urban Games, with an estimated 80 sets of medals. The venue for the Games will be located at the new Uram Extreme Park, the largest park in Eastern Europe. The number of participants is expected to reach 800. There will also be approximately 200 volunteers aiding the Games’ hosts.
The event participants will compete in the following sports: basketball, cycling (freestyle BMX), roller sport, skateboarding, dance sport (break dance), football freestyle, and cheerleading. The Games’ programme is also set to include several demonstration sports: rope skipping, parkour, and teqball.
Athletes will come to Kazan from Vladivostok, Kaliningrad, Khabarovsk, Smolensk, the Leningrad Oblast, Perm, Volgograd, Cheboksary, Yekaterinburg, Voronezh, Izhevsk, Samara, Tyumen, Moscow, Saratov, Ulyanovsk, Ufa, and Sochi, as well as from several locations in Tatarstan (Almetyevsk, Zelenodolsk, Kazan), and from other cities.

The test drive of the Games venue (Uram Extreme Park) was held on Youth Day, June 27. The new extreme park covers an area of 1.9 hectares and includes 8 areas: a skate park, two pump tracks for beginners and experts, workout and parkour sites, a streetball court, an air park, and training zones.
The upcoming Urban Games are organized by the Ministries of Sport of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Tatarstan, with the support of all-Russian sports federations and associations.
