Special Olympics World Winter Games Kazan 2022 are presented at the “Racing against the Happiness” fifth anniversary cycle ride for special children that has taken place on May 28 in the Gorkinsko-Ometievsky Les. ANO “Directorate for Sports and Social Projects” became the event partner.

“Racing against the Happiness” ride brings together the children aged 3-18 and is held at the 380m asphalt track. Competing in helmets is a mandatory condition.

“Going even through a short track is a huge overcoming yourself. This event is the reason for the children and their parents to come out of the four-wall space, communicate, get positive emotions, and generally open up to the world,” the organizers highlight.

“We are happy to be the cycle ride partners. It is important for us that the values of Special Olympics, which we are currently preparing for, such as absence of winners and losers, overcoming yourself are essential elements of the alike events held in our city. We have one common goal – to make the world kinder towards the people with different abilities and capacities, to help them get socialized,” Maksim Denisov said, Directorate CEO.

Awards ceremony and entertaining program wrapped up the event.

Special Olympics World Winter Games will take place in Kazan on January 22-28, 2022. Games sports program will comprise competitions in seven sports: alpine skiing, snowboarding, floorball, cross country skiing, figure skating, short track speed skating, and snowshoeing. The event will bring together over 2,000 athletes with intellectual disabilities and Unified Partners from 100 countries.
