Winners in the basketball 3×3 tournament were determined on Day 1 of the First All-Russian Urban Games.
Sports fans of the First All-Russian Urban Games showed great interest in the basketball 3×3 competition, which continued throughout the day. Teams of girls and boys of different ages competed for the Games trophies and showed more than one interesting match.
In the girls’ U16 category, the first place was grabbed by the Basketledi team, the second place went to the Tatars team. The players of the Kukmor team won in the junior event, the basketball players from the Full Pliz team took the second place, while bronze medals were taken by the Double Double team, who represent the Primorsky Territory.
Among the girls in the U18 age category, the best performance was shown by the BasketGirls team; the second place was taken by the Double Double from the Perm Krai, while the bronze was earned by athletes from the Leningrad Oblast.
“I really like everything at the Urban Games; the organization is great. I’ve been playing basketball for 8 years now; and I’ve devoted half of my life to it. Most of all I like the spirit of competition, when you want to give all your strength to it on the court. I have tried different sports, but I have a natural craving for basketball,” said Dmitry, a team member from the Primorsky Krai.
On Day 2 of the First All-Russian Urban Games, the final competitions in one of the most spectacular types of BMX freestyle will be held. The junior finals will start at 11.00. The basketball courts will host the 2020 Red Bull Half Court tournament; and the final competitions will also be held in the break dance, roller sports, cheerleading and skateboarding events.
The First All-Russian Urban Games are held in the Uram Extreme Park. Admission is free.
