The Ministry of Sport of the Republic of Tatarstan and Match TV agreed on the cooperation for the duration of the BRICS Sports Games 2024 in Kazan

The agreement was signed at the International Sports Forum Russia – Country of Sports, held in Perm. All of the most important competitions of the BRICS Games 2024 will be broadcast by Match TV.

We are delighted that the channel will become our partner at the BRICS Sports Games in 2024 and will help make the competitions unforgettable for the millions of sports fans from all over the world,” said Vladimir Leonov, Minister of Sport of the Republic of Tatarstan.

What is more, we will send great technical and creative power to Kazan to ensure that the picture is of the highest quality to match the competition. Kazan has vast experience in hosting the world’s biggest events at the premium level, so there is no doubt that in terms of their organisation the BRICS Games will be on a par with the FIFA Confederations Cup and the FIFA World Cup, the finals of major Russian competitions, and the Solidarity Games,” said Dmitry Ryzhkov, First Deputy General Producer of Match TV.

The BRICS Sports Games will be held in Kazan from 11 June to 23 June 2024. Competitions in 27 sports will be held at 17 sports venues. These include: badminton, boxing, breaking, canoeing, rowing, judo, karate, koresh, athletics, table tennis, swimming, beach volleyball, beach handball, diving, sambo, artistic swimming, skateboarding, wrestling (freestyle wrestling and Greco-Roman wrestling), artistic gymnastics, tennis, weightlifting, wushu, fencing, phygital sports (basketball and football), rhythmic gymnastics, and chess.

About five thousand participants are expected at the BRICS Sports Games, three thousand of which are athletes and another two thousand are officials. Invitations to the Games have been sent to the five BRICS member states (Brazil, India, China, South Africa, and Russia) and six countries (Argentina, Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, Saudi Arabia, and United Arab Emirates), which will be admitted to the alliance starting 1 January 2024.

The BRICS Sport Ministers meeting is scheduled within the framework of the BRICS Sports Games 2024, as well as the approval of the concept of sustainable development and rules of conduct for the BRICS Games 2025-2030.
