Kazan Volunteers summed up the results of the year at the Ak Bars Arena stadium today. In 2021, the participants of the movement worked more than 60,000 hours and took part in more than 50 events of various scales. The “Volunteer of the year 2021” annual ceremony was held here. Amina Gumerova, a graduate of the Volga Region University of Physical Culture, Sport and Tourism, received the main award from the Minister of Sport of the Republic of Tatarstan Vladimir Leonov.

“Today we have summed up the results of another season and awarded the most outstanding volunteers of our Republic. I am grateful to each participant in the volunteers movement for their kind heartedness, openness and desire to help! Thank you for making our events livelier and for sharing your positive mood with everyone! I congratulate you on the end of the year and assure you that no less interesting events await us ahead! I wish you all great success!” said the Minister.

Tatiana Petrova became the winner in “Always Ready!” nomination. The winner of the “Record of the Year” is Valeria Sougak who spent most of hours volunteering in 2021.

Albert Agzamov started volunteering in 2021 and became the winner in “Discovery of the Year” nomination. Myadinya Islamova, one of the most active representatives of the movement, became a “Silver Volunteer” of the year.

Philip Shelomanov was named the Leader of the Year. The Audience Award was given to the winner of voting in the official Kazan Volunteers group on vk.com – Evgeny Burenko.

About volunteers movement in the Republic of Tatarstan

Republic of Tatarstan is one of the founders of the volunteers movement in the history of modern Russia. The movement appeared in the Republic in 2009 – after Kazan won the bid for hosting the 27th Summer Universiade 2013 – and received a powerful incentive for the development. Kazan Volunteers took part in the organisation of the Olympic Games in Sochi 2014, FINA World Championships 2015, matches of the Confederations Cup 2017 and FIFA World Cup Russia™ 2018, WorldSkills Kazan 2019.

To date, more than 81,000 active users from the Republic of Tatarstan, regions of the Russian Federation and foreign countries are registered in the automated system as the Kazan Volunteers movement participants. The activists of the movement have worked out more than 630 international and national events with more than 1.5 million volunteer hours in total.

In 2021, Kazan Volunteers movement organised the participation of the volunteers in 35 events. The total number of hours worked out in 2021 is 62,225. 3,679 volunteers (as well as 552 volunteers in 2020) participated in the organisation of the different-scale events.

In 2021, the volunteers campaign for the Special Olympics World Winter Games Kazan 2022 has also been implemented. Prior to the official postponement of the event, the Volunteers Services and Uniform Distribution Department received 5,875 applications from 97 countries and 82 constituent entities of the Russian Federation, where the requirement was 2,200 people. 1,306 candidates were interviewed.

Kazan hosted the First CIS Games on September 4-11. 4,674 candidates from 43 regions of Russia applied within the volunteers campaign of the First CIS Games. The team of volunteers comprised 1,074 people.
