Bank of Russia issues commemorative silver coin to mark 100th anniversary of foundation of Tatar Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic

On the 100th anniversary of the foundation of the Tatar Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic, the Bank of Russia issued a commemorative silver coin with a face value of 3 roubles On the front side of the coin of 925 sample (31.1 grams of pure silver) the State Emblem of Russia is depicted. On the back there is a relief image: young people in traditional Tatar costumes performing a national dance. In the background is the ensemble of the Kazan Kremlin. The emblem of Tatarstan in the upper part of the coin is made in the laser matting technique. The coin is made in “proof” quality (the technology of minting coins of improved quality).

“Significant events for Tatarstan, its culture and unique architectural monuments were reflected on the commemorative coins of the Bank of Russia. This year a coin dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the republic foundation was issued, which also depicts one of the elements of Tatar culture — folk dance,” said Marat Sharifullin, manager of the National Bank for the Republic of Tatarstan of Volga-Vyatka Main Office of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation.

In total, over the years, the Bank of Russia has issued more than 20 commemorative coins dedicated to Tatarstan and Kazan. For example, the coin “Republic of Tatarstan”, which depicts the coat of arms of the Republic of Tatarstan, was included in the series of coins “Russian Federation”. The Kazan coin was issued for the 1000th anniversary of the city and is presented in the series “Ancient Cities of Russia”.

In addition, coins were issued for the World Summer Universiade held in Kazan in 2013, the World Aquatics Championship in 2015, and the World Cup in 2018. The Bank of Russia coins depicted the Kazan Kremlin, the Great Bulgarians, the Tatar Musa Jalil State Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet, Kazan State University and other iconic places and attractions of the Republic of Tatarstan.
