As part of the agreement between the Ministry of Sports of the Republic of Tatarstan and the International Swimming Federation (FINA), new FINA Development Centre scholars will soon come to Kazan.
According to FINA’s decision, Kazan’s international team of athletes will be replenished with 13 swimmers and 7 divers from Georgia, Nigeria, Guatemala, Afghanistan, North Macedonia, Montenegro, Rwanda, Angola, Ghana, Tajikistan, Albania, Colombia, Venezuela, Lithuania and Cuba.
It is planned that the athletes will train during the year under the guidance of FINA Development Centre trainers.
The goal of the Centre is to unlock the potential of athletes, and create optimum conditions for full training so that they may improve their athletic skills and results for participation in major international competitions, including the Olympic Games.
Today, swimmers Arina Baykova (Latvia), Bisma Khan (Pakistan), Davor Petrovski (North Macedonia) and diver Frandiel Gomez Vargas (Dominican Republic) are training at the Centre.
