The Russian Athletics Junior Championships was hosted at the Central Stadium (2a Tashayak St.), Kazan on June 26-28, 2016.
About tournament
876 participants representing 60 regions of Russia, among them 620 athletes, 196 judges and 60 team officials, came to Kazan for the event. 150 technical officials, including 100 judges from the Republic of Tatarstan, officiated at the tournament.
54 medal events were contested. For the first time in its history, the national junior tournament featured combined events.
Three years ago Kazan already played host to the Russian Athletics Junior Championships, which served as a test event for the 27th Summer Universiade 2013.
