The Epee World Cup Kazan 2023 (Solidarity Cup) was held in the Gymnastics Center from March 29 to April 3. About 300 athletes participated in the competition.

 

About the tournament

The purpose of the Cup is to strengthen friendly relations between countries, promote humanistic values of sports and genuine principles of the Olympic movement, as well as create an informal platform for the implementation of global diplomacy.

Throughout its history, Kazan hosted competitions in this sport more than once, including the fencing tournament as part of the 27th Summer Universiade (2013), FIE World Championships (2014), Russian U18 Fencing Championships (2019).

In 2020, the capital of Tatarstan received the right to host one of the legs of the FIE World Cup in Women’s Foil (Individual and Teams). The tournament was a qualifying competition for the 2020 Summer Olympic Games in Tokyo. In March 2021, Kazan hosted the FIE World Cup in Men’s and Women’s Epee Individual and Teams.
