The first day of the Russian Synchronised Swimming Championship revealed the strongest teams with the best technical routine. The Moscow team got the highest score: 90.4982 points.
The team included: Darya Kirsanova, Ekaterina Shilkina, Anastasiya Klimkova, Kristina Eliasian, Varvara Kreopalova, Elena Kulenkova, Alyona Matvienko, Anna Nazarova, Maria Nazarova, Victoria Noskova, Ksenia Khudyakova, and Alisa Shashkova.
The winning routine was based on the traditional Tsyganochka dance. “We really conveyed its aesthetic today,” the athletes say with confidence. After the Award Ceremony, they shared how they had been honing their performance. “We have been having a difficult time, a really unusual time lately. We’ve been feeling a little out of it, even. We began preparing our routine in July and have been working really hard on it since then, and up until today. 5 hours every day, 6 days a week,” the swimmers shared. “We have been doing our best to get ready, and these medals are a reward that we have been waiting for so long.”
The silver medals went to the Moscow-2 team, with a score of 90.4031 points. The team included: Angelina Zakharchuk, Polina Lartseva, Milena Maretic, Darya Ogorodnikova, Darya Podlesnaya, Sofya Podlesnaya, Kristina Romashova, Stanislava Tarnovskaya, Valeria Nesterova, Elizaveta Pryadkina, Kristina Tagankina, and Karina Tashagadzhiyeva.
The last of the three winning teams was from Moscow Oblast and included: Kristina Averina, Darya Bokova, Svetlana Denisova, Anastasiya Romanchuk, Anna Sokolova, Darya Fomina, Svetlana Khodyreva, Evelina Shevlyakova, Alina Mantulenko, Arina Timchenko, and Anastasiya Shmelkova. They got 90.1204 points.
