FINA is continuing with its series of virtual events for training centres. The first online competitions were carried out on September 26. Swimmers from Kazan (Russia), Florida (US) and Phuket (Thailand) performed in various distance events, and then shared their results.

In Kazan’s Aquatics Palace, Arina Baikova (Latvia) swam 400m medley and Musa Zhalayev (Turkmenistan) and Davor Petrovski (North Macedonia) showed 200m medley as part of their morning training session. Davor and Musa demonstrated the best results in their distances.

“The event format, proposed by FINA, is aligned with today’s reality and is interesting, it brings together athletes and coaches, and enables the centres to share experiences in preparation for events and even compete in the new conditions of this year,” Ranko Tepavcevic, Head of the FINA Development Centre in Kazan, said.
