First Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Denis Manturov and Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia Airlangga Hartarto held the 14th meeting of the Russian-Indonesian Joint Commission on Trade, Economic and Technical Cooperation on the sidelines of the International Economic Forum “Russia – Islamic World: KazanForum”.

Priority attention was given to the economic agenda. Over the past five years, trade turnover between Russia and Indonesia has more than doubled, reaching nearly 5 billion US dollars by the end of 2025.

“The Free Trade Agreement between the Eurasian Economic Union and Indonesia, signed at the end of last year, should serve as an additional factor for increasing and diversifying trade turnover. We expect that all parties will complete the necessary domestic procedures for its entry into force by the end of this year. Improving conditions for mutual access of goods to markets must be accompanied by expanding direct contacts between our entrepreneurs. The Innoprom exhibition in Yekaterinburg this July, where Indonesia will feature as the partner country, offers a valuable opportunity in this regard,” said Denis Manturov.

The meeting also addressed co‑operation in agriculture, energy, transport, industry and high technologies.

“The participation of a high‑level Indonesian delegation in Space Week, held in Russia last month, has helped to intensify dialogue in the space sector. Several promising projects are already in the pipeline. In particular, Russia possesses the necessary expertise and experience to prepare and organise the flight of Indonesia’s first cosmonaut,” emphasised Denis Manturov.

The parties noted the importance of ensuring stable mutual settlements. They also exchanged views on co‑operation in humanitarian fields, including education, culture and sport. The growth of mutual tourist flows was welcomed.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Denis Manturov and Airlangga Hartarto signed the Protocol of the 14th Meeting of the Russian-Indonesian Joint Commission on Trade, Economic and Technical Cooperation.
