Alexander Kudashev from the Samara Oblast became the champion of Russia in the men’s 200 m butterfly event; his result is 1:55.68.

“My tactic was to stick with everyone for 150 metres, and then to outrace everyone at the final 50 metres. And so it happened,” said Alexander Kudashev after the finish. “I wanted to swim faster; I counted on 1:54, but I made bad turns, not very good exits. There have been no competitions for a very long time, since February, and now we distribute our strength differently during a race, we are swimming differently than in February – all this leads to such minor mistakes. In general, I give my performance a B.”

Vadim Klimenishchev from the Lipetsk Oblast became silver medallist. He finished the race at 1:56.50 and set Russia’s new junior record. The previous record – 1:56.81 – belonged to Egor Pavlov and was set in April last year.

The third place was taken by Alexander Pribytok from St. Petersburg (1:56.94).

Kirill Strelnikov from Moscow (27.14) became champion of Russia in the 50 m breaststroke race. Andrey Nikolaev from the Kaluga Oblast won silver (27.50). Ilya Khomenko from the Rostov Oblast finished third (27.57).

Anastasia Guzhenkova representing the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug – Yugra won the women’s 200 m freestyle race (1:57.75). Valeria Salamatina from the Sverdlovsk Oblast ended up second (1:57.98); Alexandra Bykova from St. Petersburg is third (1:59.25).
