From 13 to 18 April, the Russian Swimming Championship (50 m) took place at the Aquatics Palace. The competition featured over 700 of the best male and female swimmers from across the country who successfully qualified through the federal district championships.
About the Championship
The competition in Kazan served as qualifiers for the World Aquatics Championships, which will be held in Singapore. Athletes vied not only for the title of the Russian champion but also for the opportunity to represent their country on the international stage.
Among the registered participants were Olympic medalists, world and European record holders: Kliment Kolesnikov, Evgeny Rylov, Evgeniya Chikunova, Yuliya Efimova, Miron Lifintsev, Kirill Prigoda, Svetlana Chimrova, Ilya Borodin, Arina Surkova, Egor Kornev, Ivan Girev, Andrey Minakov, Daria Klepikova, Daria Trofimova, Pavel Samusenko, and others.
An official opening ceremony was held on 13 April, featuring a modern show, cultural performances by the creative groups from the Republic of Tatarstan, and an official part attended by honorary guests of the championship.
After the competitions, there was an autograph session planned for the spectators to get autographs, take photos, and personally interact with the top athletes of the country.
