The All-Russian Forum “Development of Small Towns and Historic Settlements” took place at the International Exhibition Center “Kazan Expo” in Kazan on 19-21 August 2025. The forum programme featured around 1,500 participants and over 100 experts.
Alongside the business programme, the forum’s key highlight was the award ceremony for the winners of the All-Russian Contest for the Best Projects for Creating a Comfortable Urban Environment.
About Forum
The All-Russian Forum “Development of Small Towns and Historic Settlements” is a principal federal platform dedicated to the issues of creating a comfortable urban environment, sustainable development, and the revitalisation of the Russia’s small towns.
Forum’s objectives:
- Sharing the best practices and successful revitalisation projects
- Discussing the state policy priorities and novel approaches to the urban development
- Announcing the results of the All-Russian Contest for the Best Projects
- Supporting and engaging young professionals into urban development
The Forum annually brings together the representatives of the federal and regional authorities, development institutions, municipalities, architectural and urbanistic communities, business along with the non-governmental and expert organisations. It acts as the site to exchange the best practices, showcase successful projects, and discuss strategic areas of the state policy in terms of the urban development.
The II All-Russian Youth Forum “Youth and Urban Environment” also was held as part of the Forum and gathered the students, young professionals, and leaders of the private initiatives in order to establish the environment for creative and professional self-expression, to inspire them to build the career in the field of shaping a comfortable urban environment, and to draw attention to the essence of the youth engagement into the projects aimed at the cities’ transformations.
