The capital of Tatarstan will host the XIX Kazan International Muslim Film Festival from 5 to 9 September.
About the Festival
The motto of the festival is “To the Dialogue of Cultures Through the Culture of Dialogue”, supporting the ideas of peacemaking, tolerance and religious toleration. Participants of the event are representatives of different nationalities and countries. This festival is a platform for cultural exchange and dialogue for them.
The 2023 festival will be dedicated to the current problems of our time. The proposed thematic accents of the festival: Year of National Cultures and Traditions in the Republic of Tatarstan, 100th anniversary of Tatarstan cinematography, patriotic themes.
It is expected that the event will bring together about 200 entrants. Applications for participation in the international film projects pitching can be submitted both by foreign and Russian cinematographers.
The main tasks of the festival:
– Stimulating development of joint movie-making featuring cinematographers from Tatarstan and other regions of Russia, as well as film-makers from foreign countries;
– Discovery of new names in the cinematic world;
– Presentation of new projects.
