The 12th Russian Children and Youth Basketball League Junior Championship was held in Kazan from April 12 to 17, 2013.
The competitions took place at three sports venues: Basket Hall, Miras Sports Complex and Vasilyevo Training Centre. The tournament brought together 360 athletes – representatives of 30 teams.
Basketball is a compulsory in the programme of the Summer Universiade since 1959. The 12th Russian Children and Youth Basketball League Junior Championship served as a test event ahead of the World University Games in Kazan.
