The Badminton Centre first opened its doors to everyone in 2016. Its building is adjacent to the Tennis Academy and is located within walking distance from the Universiade Village, the main building of the Volga Region State University of Physical Culture, Sport and Tourism and the Burevestnik sports complex.
The site has a setup with 12 courts and stands for 300 spectators. The Badminton Centre is home to the Badminton Federation of the Republic of Tatarstan and the Republican Olympic Reserve Sports School in Badminton.
The venue hosted the European Badminton Championships 2016. In 2024, the badminton competitions as part of the BRICS Games were also held here.
