From 7 to 10 August, the Tatarstan’s capital hosted one of the most anticipated events of the season – PSB Russian Athletics Championships. The tournament brought together the country’s strongest athletes in one arena – among them were the world and European champions, Russian record holders, and promising young talents just going into the race for the top national titles.
The competition was held at the Central Stadium in Kazan that also had hosted the Universiade 2013 and BRICS Games 2024.
About the Championships
The Tatarstan’s capital last hosted the Russian Athletics Championships in 2018.
This year’s foremost start comprised 44 medal events. In addition to the thrilling races, breathtaking jumps, and powerful throws, spectators had the opportunity to enjoy:
- a fan zone with entertaining activites for the whole family;
- show races;
- prize giveaways from the Russian Athletics Federation and partners.
The Opening Ceremony was held on 7 August featuring a performance by Tatyana Kurtukova, the singer behind the “Matushka” hit song, as well as the official part attended by the honoured guests of the Championships.
