From 14 to 15 May 2026, the “Kazan Expo” International Exhibition Centre will be hosting the 17th International Economic Forum “Russia – Islamic World: KazanForum”. Besides the business programme, the Forum commonly combines rich cultural and sporting events that will be held on several sites across Kazan and the Republic of Tatarstan throughout 12 and 17 May.
About the Forum
“Russia – Islamic World: KazanForum” is the principal platform of the economic cooperation of the Russian Federation and countries of the Islamic world. The Forum’s goal is to strengthen trade, economic, scientific, technological, social, and cultural ties between Russia and the member states of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
The International economic forum of Russia and participating countries debuted in 2009 having set up an international platform to bring up the issues of cooperation and implementation of joint projects.
2026 will be the fourth time the Forum is held at the federal level. The importance of the upcoming event climbs as Kazan has acquired the status of the cultural capital of the Islamic world.
The 2025 Forum’s business programme featured 8.5 thousand representatives of 96 countries and 82 Russian regions. More than 200 events, 148 sessions with the participation of 990 speakers took place and 130 agreements were signed as part of the Forum. Over 500 media representatives from 20 countries covered the event.
