At the end of the second day of the FINA Swimming World Cup in Kazan, the overall leader has changed. Now Madison Wilson from Australia is on top.

200m freestyle

Australian Madison Wilson in a tight clash with Ekaterina Nikonova snatched the victory and grabbed gold in 200m freestyle for the fourth time within this World Cup. Previously she has won this distance in Berlin, Budapest and Doha.

“A very emotional heat. In autumn, I fell ill, we had a lot offlights and I haven’t seen my family for a long time that I miss very much. I am glad that I have come to Kazan. The athletes were very well welcomed here,” Madison Wilson said.
