II stage “Solidarity Games” kicked off

Kazan’s Aquatics Palace hosted the Opening Ceremony of the second stage of the “Solidarity Games” international competitions. The Event commences with the Tatarstan President’s Diving Cup featuring a total of 77 divers from Russia, Belarus, and Serbia along with 29 coaches. Over 1,000 athletes from 23 countries and 60 Russian regions are forecast to take part in the Solidarity Games II stage.

During the Opening Ceremony welcome addressees were delivered by the President of the Russian diving federation Stanislav Druzhinin, First deputy minister of sport of the Republic of Tatarstan Khalil Shaykhutdinov, and President of the Tatarstan Diving Federation Efim Klimov.

“I’m glad to welcome you at the “Solidarity Games” international competitions on behalf of the Republic of Tatarstan. It is good that the strongest junior divers have gathered in Kazan. Hopefully, they will demonstrate amazing dives, and this event will turn into a significant kick-off in their career. May new stars be born, may this tournament further the development of diving in Tatarstan, and let the strongest win!” Khalil Shaykhutdinov said.

“This is the fifth, anniversary Tatarstan President’s Diving Cup, every time held up to high standards. We wish the participants victories, power, and energy to achieve outstanding scores and set new records.” Efim Klimov noted.

“Traditionally it is Kazan and Tatarstan that are among the top progressive and developing regions for diving. It is vital that competitions here are always delivered at a high level, for what I would like to express gratitude to the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, Minister of sport of the Republic of Tatarstan Vladimir Leonov, President of the Tatarstan Diving Federation Efim Klimov, and Director of this excellent Aquatics Palace Albert Bagautdinov. What is important is that the youth of our country will once again feel the victory taste, gain the experience, and then will represent Kazan at other international starts. Tatarstan President’s Diving Cup is declared open!” Stanislav Druzhinin announced.

First competition day of the Tatarstan President’s Diving Cup will present the awards in the following events: for junior girls – 3m springboard synchro, 3m springboard, 10m platform. Junior boys will find out the strongest at 1m springboard.

“Solidarity Games” is international competitions in swimming, artistic swimming, and diving organised in Kazan throughout July-December 2022.

I stage “World” of the “Solidarity Games” went with success from 19 July to 3 August and brought together 984 athletes as well as 237 team officials from 16 countries with 376 sets of medal awarded.
