“These Games were a new challenge for me, so contribution of the Kazan specialists who have a broad background of organising multiple international competitions was enormous. I am grateful to everyone who was advising us, replying to our questions and helping to deliver the Games at a high level. Over a quite short time, together we managed to create an unbelievable programme and give rise to a new round of sports industry development in Primorsky Krai,” Elmir Valitov noted.

Decision on sending Kazan specialists to Vladivostok in order to aid in the organisation and staging of the “Children of Asia” Games was adopted within the framework of the Collaboration Agreement between the organisations that was signed on 30 March at the “We are together. Sport” Forum.

A large team of professionals went to Vladivostok in the following composition: Dmitry Mikhaylov, Andrey Kupriyanov, Mark Kalashnikov, Elvin Bayramov, Aynaz Aleeva, Irek Abdullin, Alsu Ganeeva, Timur Ganeev, Alina Garipova, Enzhe Yagfarova, Dinar Ahmadiev, Regina Gaysina, Raushaniya Gafieva, Milyausha Mustafina. Besides the organisers, Vladivostok welcomed 100 volunteers from Kazan who had a great input to the “Children of Asia” volunteers programme.

Specialists from Kazan trained over 200 people for the Games to run up to high standard. According to the head of the unit for sports venues preparation and management of the Directorate for the 7th Children of Asia International Sports Games Andrey Kupriyanov, a trip to Vladivostok was challenging for him:

“Personally for me, and I’m sure for the others as well, it was a kind of a challenge to try my hand in a new environment, different format, different city. I’m glad that altogether with our team we succeeded in applying our knowledge and experience to the preparation and staging of the “Children of Asia” Games. First and foremost, we set the goal to hold the event in a dignified manner and arrange a celebration of sport and kindness for all the participants, and to engage the youth into sport. Over 3,000 young athletes from 13 states took part in the Games. Competitions organisation was highly appraised by the country’s leadership. The major sporting event itself made it possible to once again demonstrate that Russia is open to the world,” Andrey shared his impressions.
