Celebratory events to mark TASSR’s 100th anniversary can take place in Tatarstan in second half of summer

Festivities dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Tatar Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic (TASSR) can be carried out in Tatarstan in the second half of the summer, Minister of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan Irada Ayupova announced at an online press meeting.

“Hopefully, we will be able to hold public events in the second half of the summer. The programme will begin nearer to August,” the minister said.

In addition, Irada Ayupova presented Gulchachak Nazipova, the Director of the National Museum of the Republic of Tatarstan, and Ayrat Sibagatullin, the Director of the State Historic and Architectural Complex of the Kazan Kremlin, with commemorative postage stamps issued for the 100th anniversary of the TASSR.

The postage stamp is printed in 250,000 copies. It shows the coat of arms of Tatarstan, national ornament, landmarks of the Republic and features the region’s agricultural and industrial achievements. By the way, the National Museum already holds commemorative postage stamp blocks issued for the 40th and 50th anniversaries of the Republic.
