Nadezhda Demidova from Moscow is Russia’s new synchronised swimming champion. The Championships is taking place at the Kazan Aquatics Palace.

Nadezhda’s freestyle routine earned her 92.0333 points. “I did my absolute best, this was my topmost performance,” says the athlete.

She also shared a story about how shed had spent the quarantine training with her coach on video call or going to the gym, without getting a chance to swim in actual water for a long time. “All of this has impacted people’s performance; some have gotten better, others have gotten worse. It’s all individual,” thinks Nadezhda Demidova.

The silver medal was awarded to Svetlana Khodyreva from the Moscow Oblast. She scored 91.6000 points. The third tier of the pedestal was claimed by Ekaterina Shilkina from Moscow, with 91.5000 points.
