On 6-11 June 2022 Kazan hosted the All-Russian National Special Olympics Women’s Futsal (“Match of Kindness”) and Dance Competitions. The sports program was held on 7-10 June at the KAI Olymp Culture and Sports Complex. Athletes and Unified partners aged 8 and older came to compete for medals in Kazan. The Universiade Village was the key place of accommodation for delegations.
About event
The competitions were staged as part of the Sport – Norm of Life project. The goal of the event was to strengthen health of athletes with intellectual disabilities and to encourage them to get more involved in physical exercise and sports.
The first edition of the All-Russian National Special Olympics Women’s Futsal Competitions (“Match of Kindness”) took place in Sochi (Krasnodar Krai) on June 3-6 2021. Teams from five regions of Russia – Vladimir Oblast, Krasnodar Krai, Omsk and Sverdlovsk Oblasts and Saint Petersburg – competed at the tournament.
Among organizers of the competitions were the Ministry of Sport of the Russian Federation, Ministry of Sport of the Republic of Tatarstan, Special Olympics Russia and Directorate for Sports and Social Projects.
