The FINA World Junior Diving Championships took place at the Aquatics Palace (70 Sibgata Khakima St.), Kazan on November 28-December 4, 2016.

About tournament

Around 200 junior divers representing 34 countries competed at the tournament in Kazan. Up to 30 international technical officials oversaw the competition.

15 medal events were contested at the tournament. The six-day competition saw junior athletes compete in two age groups: Group A (divers from 16 to 18 years old) and Group B (divers from 14 to 15 years old).

The first edition of the FINA World Junior Diving Championships was organised in 1977. The tournament is held every two years, bringing together young prospects from the strongest nations in the sport to compete at world level.

Competition results

Chinese divers topped the overall team standings with 7 gold, 4 silver and 3 bronze medals. Russia placed second with 3 gold, 3 silver and 4 bronze medals. The British team took home 2 gold, 1 silver and 2 bronze medals.
