The International Forum for the 50th Anniversary of Convention Concerning the Protection of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage was held from 1 to 9 December, 2022, in Kazan and Saint Petersburg, at the venues earlier previewed for the 45th session of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee.
About Forum
The Forum was devoted to the 50th Anniversary of the 1972 Convention concerning the protection of the world cultural and natural heritage – one of the most efficient and widely recognized international acts developed under the auspices of UNESCO.
The Programme of the Forum included plenary sessions, conferences, as well as a number of major thematic events. Among participants were relevant ministers, leading international World Heritage experts, representatives of professional non-governmental organizations, scientific communities, World Heritage site managers, as well as young professionals.
The conference on “Nature management and preservation of the World Natural Heritage” was held from December 1 to 4 on the basis of Saint Petersburg Mining University and was devoted to the preservation of natural heritage, rational use of natural resources and environmental safety.
